One World Education

One voice can make a difference if people listen.

When Bethle said these words, she was a 7th grader at Howard University Public Charter School, presenting her essay on stage at the One World Challenge.

Each fall One World Education helps thousands of students like Bethle, in every ward of the city, to find their voices and empower them to use their words to make a difference.

Each spring we provide a forum for people to listen at the One World Challenge, where

DC middle and high school students make oral presentations to hundreds of community leaders, educators, and family members about social justice issues directly relevant to their own lives. Judges award $10,000 in college scholarships and academic prizes.

Your gift on Giving Tuesday will help to fund scholarships for these young people striving to excel.
